A structure called Destiny Bridge is placed before the access to Bifrost.
Contrary to whatever stories there are about it, it is just a pretty piece fashioned on commission of those living in Asgard
Asgard itself is a settlement and habitat spread across multiple pieces of floating rock, connected by mostly transparent walkways. There's a forcefield underneath to cathc anyone who might fall off.
