The Isle of Faces


People of all religions, creeds and faiths are equally welcome in the Inn-Between. All religious buildings, be they churches, mosques, synagogues, cathedrals, temples or other places of worship or religious teaching, are located on the Isle of Faces, which contrary to its name is an archipelago of tiny islands connected by walkways off the West Coast.

You are free to drop in and get familiar with any of them that you like, join or leave them, etc.

The Lotus Temple, located in New Delhi, India, is a Bahá'í House of Worship completed in 1986. Notable for its flowerlike shape, it serves as the Mother Temple of the Indian subcontinent and has become a prominent attraction in the city. The Lotus Temple has won numerous architectural awards and been featured in hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles. Like all other Bahá'í Houses of Worship, the Lotus Temple is open to all regardless of religion, or any other distinction, as emphasized in Bahá'í texts. .

Cathedral of Aachen

"The Cathedral of Aachen, also called the Imperial Cathedral, was commissioned by Charlemagne and marked Aachen as the center of his empire."

The Cathedral of Aachen is a Roman Catholic church in Aachen, Germany. The church is the one of the oldest cathedrals in northern Europe and was known as the "Royal Church of St. Mary at Aachen" during the Middle Ages. For 595 years, from 936 to 1531, the Aachen chapel was the church of coronation for 30 German kings and 12 queens. The church is the episcopal seat of the Diocese of Aachen.

Hagia Sophia is a former Greek Orthodox patriarchal basilica, later an imperial mosque, and now a museum in Istanbul, Turkey. From the date of its construction in 537 until 1453, it served as an Eastern Orthodox cathedral and seat of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, except between 1204 and 1261, when it was converted to a Roman Catholic cathedral under the Latin Empire. The building was a mosque from 1453 until 1931. It was then secularized and opened as a museum in 1935.
