Anne Sallow (b. 1874/1875) was a Scottish witch and the twin sister of Sebastian Sallow. Before her fourth year as a Slytherin student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, her home in Feldcroft was attacked by Victor Rookwood, Ranrok, and Ranrok's Loyalists.[3][8] She was cursed and developed a debilitating illness.[5]
Her life was dictated by her feuding brother and uncle, as Sebastian wished to cure her by any means through the Dark Arts, while her primary caregiver and guardian Solomon Sallow only wanted to keep her comfortable and protected from the greater suffering Anne might experience from the Dark Arts.[3] Though Anne herself agreed with her uncle, Sebastian went to desperate means to save her, eventually resulting in their uncle's murder at Sebastian's hand and the breaking of the Sallow family.[6] It is unknown what happened to Anne afterwards.

Biography
Early life
Anne was born in 1874 or 1875 alongside a twin brother, Sebastian. They were raised by two professors who worked at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.[9] Their parents died when they were young after a lamp in their cellar poisoned them with an undetectable toxin,[10] after which they were taken in by their uncle Solomon Sallow who lived in a home in Feldcroft.[4]
At the age of eleven, Anne and Sebastian began attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where she was sorted into Slytherin.[7] Anne developed a close friendship with Ominis Gaunt, a Slytherin student in their year, who introduced her to the Undercroft, a secret area within Hogwarts Castle. There, the three of them would often play Gobstones and hang out. With Ominis not being particularly close to his own family, he would often visit Anne and Sebastian at their home in Feldcroft.[11]
Sometime before the start of her fifth year, Anne was attacked and cursed when Feldcroft was raided by Victor Rookwood, Ranrok, and Ranrok's Loyalists. She had rushed out to help the wounded villagers and was told "children should be seen and not heard" before being cursed by Rookwood (which was then unknown to the Sallow family, and they assumed it to be a goblin who had cursed her).[3][12][8] She developed constant pain after this and was unable to attend school.[4] While the guilty party was initially assumed to be Ranrok's Loyalists,[4] it was eventually discovered to have been Victor Rookwood by one of her brother's friends.[12]
After the raid, Anne lived in constant agony, cared for by her uncle in Feldcroft. They tried everything to cure her, from Noreen Blainey to St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries, to no avail. By the end, Solomon simply wanted to keep her comfortable,[3] though Sebastian was more desperate to untap the mysteries of the Dark Arts with the hope of finding a cure.[5] As Sebastian's interest in the Dark Arts only grew, Solomon grew suspicious of him. Their rivalry reached a climax when, after performing the Imperius Curse on a goblin during a skirmish at Feldcroft, he was forbidden by Solomon from seeing Anne or visiting their home.[13]
Sebastian's journey into the Dark Arts culminated in the discovery of a dark relic that required a dark sacrifice to use. He attempted to cure a reluctant Anne, who baulked and informed their uncle on what Sebastian was doing. Solomon arrived to the Feldcroft Catacomb, where Sebastian had used the relic to control Inferi, and urged him to stop. Sebastian attacked his uncle, engaged in a duel with him, and eventually murdered him. Anne discovered her uncle's body and, after destroying the remaining Inferi and Slytherin's Spellbook, telling her twin in the process he had chosen his path, tearfully knelt over the motionless form of Solomon, before Apparating away with it.[6]
Regardless of whether Ominis and his friend turned in Sebastian, Anne informed villagers in Feldcroft, such as Bernard Ndiaye, that Solomon had died in his sleep. She left a letter for Sebastian, stating that she left to have time to herself, and while she would always love him, she may never forgive him for what he had done to their uncle and half-felt that he must face justice for his crimes.[14] Anne was the only participant at the funeral of Solomon Sallow.[15]
After Solomon's murder, Anne moved elsewhere. Her exact location was never disclosed in her letter to Sebastian, and her eventual fate is unknown.[14]

Magical abilities and skills
Charms: Anne was able to slam her brother against a wall with the Banishing Charm, as well as use the Fire-Making Spell to create a stream of fire to incinerate an army of Inferi. She also used the Bombardment Spell to destroy Slytherin's Spellbook.[6]
Apparition: Despite it not being on the Hogwarts curriculum until sixth year, Anne was capable of Apparition and was able to take her uncle's dead body with her.[6] She was likely taught by her uncle, Solomon, who had served as an Auror for the British Ministry of Magic in his early adult life.[4]
