Liam of Trebond was the sixth child of Coram Smythesson and Rispah Cooper, the baron and baroness of Trebond. Liam had nine brothers and sisters: Jonthair, Alinna, Thomsen, Mylec, Daran, Thayine, Rose, Elenna, and Buran. It's not much known about him but at some point he joined the Tortallan army. Unlike his two oldest brothers Liam probably didn't train as a knight.[1] During the Scanran War he helped by scouting.[2]

Liam was named after the famous Shang Dragon, Liam Ironarm.
