Bard Chadran taught history at the Bardic Collegium near the end of the reign of Elspeth the Peacemaker. He was described as "leonine." He was "a tall, powerful man who was probably as much at home wielding a broadsword as a lute." (Magic's Pawn)

Though the details are never given, at Queen Elspeth's request, Chadran allowed himself to be captured by bandits. He then earned their trust. When their guard was down, he fought his way free, taking the bandits' other prisoners with him.
