Darzie is a young gryphon living in White Gryphon. One of the new athlete class of gryphons, he earns his living as a courier and racer. While occasionally another gryphon turns in a faster time, Darzie is consistently the fastest overall.

When Tadrith and Silverblade disappeared in the rainforest on their way to Outpost Five, Judeth needed a gryphon to carry a mage out to an area near the null-magic zone to setup a Gate to get the search parties to the area. She challenged Darzie's pride by hinting that she didn't think he was capable. He volunteered for the assignment, flying a mage out to the target area in record time, and landing safely in the middle of a violent thunderstorm.
