Jewel is a shy hertasi who served in the Sixth Wing East of one of the Urtho's armies during the Mage Wars. It was the same wing as Conn Levas, Winterhart, Zhaneel and Aubri. She served Aubri, more or less, as his personal hertasi while he was a member of the wing.

She evacuated the army camp at Urtho's Tower with the gryphons and k'Leshya, settling in White Gryphon, where she became well known for her garlic and onion-laced fish stew.
